OBITUARY:Theodore Finsand, 1890-1964, Mitchell County, Iowa Theodore Finsand Funeral services for Theodore Finsand, age 74, who died at the Iowa Soldiers' Home in Marshalltown on December 26th, were held at Rock Creek Lutheran church near Osage on December 31st. Services were conducted by the Rev. Donald L. Berg, pastor of the church, with Champion Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial was in the Rock Creek cemetery. Theodore Finsand was born in Cedar Township on June 5, 1890 to Tosten and Margarethe Finsand. He was baptized and confirmed at Rock Creek Lutheran church. His early education was received in the Meroa school. He worked for a number of farmers in the area, making his home near Meroa until after the death of his parents. His later years were spent with his nephews and niece, and a short stay at the Osage Nursing Home. He suffered a stroke in December 1963, and was moved to the Soldiers' Home in March 1964. He was a veteran of World War I. Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers, and five sisters. Surviving him are two brothers: Martin, who lives at the Osage Nursing Home, and Oscar, who lives in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Copyright 2004, Steve Norby
