OBITUARY: Mary Louise Havig, 1917-2004, Mitchell County, Iowa [Adapted from Mitchell County Press-News online; 9/15/2004] Mary Louise Havig Mary Louise Havig, age 87, died Aug. 18, 2004 at the Stanton Nursing Home following complications of Alzheimer's disease. A graveside memorial service was held Friday, September 17, 2004. Mary Louise was born March 6, 1917 to Alfred and Elsie (Christianson) Havig. She graduated valedictorian of her class from Osage High School in 1934. She then attended Hamilton Business College. She became a private secretary at Wilson's in Albert Lea, Minn. and later moved to Tacoma, Washington, where she was also a private secretary for Weyerheuer Lumber Co. In 1983 she moved to Nebraska to be near her sister. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Forrest of Mason City. Those that survive her include a brother, Dean Havig of Rancho Cordova, California; and sister, Ruth and her husband Gerald Paulson of Norfolk, Nebraska; a sister-in-law, Virgie Havig of Mason City.
