OBITUARY: Mary Catherine (Jarosh) Buck, 1909-1996, Mitchell County, Iowa [ From Mason City Globe Gazette, Mason City, Iowa, April 12, 1996 (edited)] Mary Catherine Buck RICEVILLE, IOWA--Mary Catherine Buck, 86, died Thursday, April 11, 1996, at Maple Manor Nursing Home in Osage, Iowa, of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Cheryl Smalley will play the organ and will accompany the church choir. Burial will be in Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery, Mason City, with David B. and David E. Veech, Troy and Michele Olson, William C. Buck and Gidget Veech serving as casket bearers. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Sunday in Riceville at Conway Funeral Home. Mary Catherine Jarosh was born on Nov. 24, 1909, in Mason City, a daughter of Charles J. and Mary Ann (Shima) Jarosh. She attended school at St. Joseph's Catholic in Mason City. On Sept. 12, 1933, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mason City, she was united in marriage to William V. Buck. The couple lived in Mason City until 1946 when the family moved to Riceville, where they farmed until 1973. She was a member of St. Anne's Rosary Society. She is survived by one son, William C. Buck Jr. of Osage; one daughter, Rosemary Veech and her husband, David, of Mason City; one grandson, David E. Veech and his wife, Gidget; one granddaughter, Michele Kay Olson and her husband, Troy; and three great-grandchildren, Joshua David and Hunter Mychael Veech of Manly and Clayton Duane Olson of Peterson.
