                         John R. Johanns

OSAGE, IOWA--John R. Johanns, 79, of Osage, died Tuesday April 30,
1996, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, with the Rev. Dennis Cahill officiating.

Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 2:30 p.m. today at Champion Funeral Home
in Osage.

John R. Johanns was born March 14, 1917, at New Haven.

Survivors include his wife, Adeline, of Osage; one daughter,
Patricia Theis of New Haven; three sons, John R. Johanns of Grand
Island, Neb.; Donald J. Johanns, of Fridley, Minn., and Michael
O. Johanns, of Lincoln, Neb.; one brother, Paul Johanns, of Osage;
12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four
brothers.
