OBITUARY: Carrie Jorgenson, 1864-1945, Mitchell County, Iowa Carrie Jorgenson Carrie Jorgenson, 81, died Thursday night, April 19, from a heart attack at the Aase Haugen Home for the Aged at Decorah, where she had been cared for since December 22, 1941. Carrie Jorgenson was born in Skedsmo, Lillestrommen, Norway on September 18, 1864. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith while in Norway. At the age of 16 she, with a brother and sister, came to this country. She spent the greater part of her life in and around Osage. First she lived on a farm west of Osage and then spent some 20 years in town. Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, Axel, and a sister, Inga. Surviving are a son, George Nelson, of Tolley, ND and three grandchildren, Evelyn, Joyce, and Eldon. Funeral services were held at the Rock Creek Lutheran church Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. C. Blaine Gunderson in charge. Burial was in the Rock Creek cemetery. Copyright 2004, Steve Norby
