OBITUARY: Alice Dena (Lundene) Larson, 1893-1953, Mitchell County, Iowa Alice Dena Lundene Larson Funeral services were held Monday for Mrs. Elmer Larson, 60, at the Rock Creek Lutheran church with the Rev. M.G. Berg officiating. Burial was in the Rock Creek cemetery. Mrs. Larson passed away Friday morning at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, after being stricken with a severe heart attack the previous Sunday. Alice Dena Lundene Larson was born August 22, 1893 in Rudd Township, Floyd county, to Anton and Marie Norby Lundene. She attended the rural school and the Cedar Valley seminary. She taught in a rural school in Floyd County for three years. On March 24, 1915 she was married to Elmer Larson. They settled on the farm southwest of Osage, which has since been their home. Mrs. Larson is survived by her husband and four sons: Leland of Emmetsburg, Kenneth, Melbourne and Donald of Osage, along with four grandchildren. One brother, Hans of Rudd and three sisters: Cora (Mrs. Lloyd Larson) of Rudd, Mabel (Mrs. Ervin Nelson) of Waterloo and Ida (Mrs. Elza Steelman) of Yakima, Washinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Olga Horgen, and a brother, Amos Lundene. Copyright 2004, Steve Norby
