OBITUARY: Bert Larson, 1900-1968, Mitchell County, Iowa Bert Larson Funeral services for Bert Larson, 67, who died Saturday at Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage, were held Tuesday at Rock Creek Lutheran church, rural Osage. The Rev. Donald L. Berg, church pastor, officiated. Arrangements were made by Champion Funeral home in Osage and burial was in Rock Creek cemetery. Bert Larson was born in Cedar Township, Mitchell County on March 16, 1900 to Lewis and Katherine Nelson Larson. He was baptized and confirmed at Rock Creek Lutheran church. He attended the rural Dudley school and one year at Cedar Valley seminary in Osage. He lived in the Osage-Rudd area throughout his life. He was united in marriage to Rose Cannon of Ventura at Des Moines on January 14, 1931. Mr. Larson had been in failing health for some time and died of a malignancy after hospitalization in Rochester and Osage. His parents and one grandson preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Rose, and children: Gordon of Columbus, Ohio, Marvin and Russell of Rudd, Loren of Osage, and Mrs. James (Phyllis) Gunsallus of Rudd. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Ervin (Rosella) Troge of Osage; three brothers, Elmer and Clifford of Osage and Lloyd of Rudd; one aunt, Mrs. Tina Naig of Osage, and numerous nieces and nephews.
