OBITUARY: Lloyd Clifford Larson, 1895-1968, Mitchell County, Iowa Lloyd C. Larson Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at Rock Creek Lutheran church, near Osage, for Lloyd Larson, 72. Mr. Larson died May 15th, at Mitchell County Memorial hospital after being hospitalized for two weeks. The Rev. Donald L. Berg, church pastor, was in charge of the services with burial in the Rock Creek cemetery. C.R. Champion and Sons made the arrangements. Lloyd Clifford Larson was born on November 7, 1895, the son of Lewis B. and Katherine Nelson Larson on the family farm in Cedar Township, Mitchell County. He was the second son in a family of five children. He received his early education in the local Dudley school and later attended Cedar Valley seminary in Osage. He was baptized and confirmed at Rock Creek Lutheran church, where he was a life long member. Cora Lundene and Lloyd Larson were united in marriage at the home of the bride’s parents in Floyd County on March 20, 1918. The couple lived for one year southwest of Osage in Mitchell County, and for the past 49 years has lived on their farm in Rudd Township, Floyd County. Mr. Larson is survived by one brother, Clifford; one sister, Mrs. Erwin (Rosella) Troge of Osage; one aunt, Mrs. Tina Naig, Osage, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by two brothers, Elmer and Bert, both of whom died earlier this spring. Copyright 2004, Steve Norby
