OBITUARY: Lanora M. (Kendall) Mealey, 1931-2004, Mitchell Co., Iowa [From: Mitchell County Press-News online, 11/24/2004 (edited)] Lanora M. Mealey Funeral services for Lanora M. Mealey, age 72, of St. Ansgar, Iowa, and formerly of Des Moines, were held Saturday, Nov. 20, 2004 at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage. The Reverend Robert Melhorn officiated. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery. Lanora died Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004 at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center Hospice Unit. Lanora Mealey was born Nov. 21, 1931, in Lacona, Iowa, the daughter of Bain and Mae Mae (Lovell) Kendall. Lanora was born and raised in Lacona, Iowa. She was married and later divorced from Robert W. Chaplin. She was also married to, and later divorced from James I. Mealey. They both preceded her in death. Preceding Lanora in death were her parents, two husbands, a brother Raymond Kendall, a sister Lila Parsons, infant twin sons Robert and Raymond Chaplin and one great-grandson Gavin Chaplin. She is survived by three children Patty (Frank) Kisley of Osage, Richard R. (Tina) Chaplin of Indianola, Barb Middleswart of Carlisle; 15 grandhildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
