OBITUARY: Mamie Morische, 1891-1968, Mitchell Co., Iowa Sophie D. Morische Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at St. John’s Lutheran Church, southwest of Osage, for Miss Sophie Morische, age 77. She died at Faith Home Easter Sunday evening. Miss Morische had been in ill health for several months. The Rev. Edward M. Lang, of Osage, interim pastor of the church, was in charge of the services. C.R. Champion and Sons made arrangements and burial was at Spring Grove cemetery near Nora Springs. Sophie Dorothy Morische, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Morische, was born on March 10, 1891 at Hanover, Germany. She came to America with her parents when she was about three years old. They lived north of Nora Springs in Floyd County. She made her home there and taught school for a time. In 1958 she moved to Osage. Miss Morische was an invalid for many years. Her parents, one sister and two brothers preceded her in death. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Fred (Elsie) Troge of Charles City, and Mrs. Lawrence (Luella) Hartwig of Osage, one brother, Elmer Morische of Rudd, as well as many nieces and nephews.
