OBITUARY: Eugene J. Murphy, 1928-1996, Mitchell County, Iowa

                       Eugene J. Murphy

RICEVILLE, IOWA--Eugene J. Murphy, 68, died Friday (June 7, 1996) at
the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at  Immaculate
Conception Catholic Church in Riceville with the Rev. John Moser
officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Eugene J. Murphy was born on March 31, 1928, at Riceville.

Survivors include his wife, Mavis; four daughters, Linda Ott of Nora
Springs, Ann Ott of Marble Rock and  Alice Murphy and Lorie Murphy,
both of Riceville; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren;
and one sister, Amojean Stevenson of Elma.

He was preceded in death by one son, Eugene James Jr.
