                           Ruth M. Thatcher

OSAGE, IOWA--Ruth M. Thatcher, 85, died Saturday (June 15, 1996) at
the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Center.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Champion
Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Magstadt officiating.  The body was
cremated and there is no visitation.  Burial of the cremains will
be at a later date in Lyons, Neb.

Ruth M. Thatcher was born Nov. 16, 1910 in Ossian.

Survivors include one son, Stephen Thatcher of Osage; one brother,
Cornell Mayer of Alexandria, Va.; two grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, and two
sisters.
