                         Shayne E. Welsh

OSAGE--Shayne E. Welsh, 6-week old son of Shane Welsh and Melissa
DeMerritt, died Wednesday December 6, 1995, at the University of
Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City, of congenital heart disease.  Shayne
was born Oct. 19, 1995, in Osage.

Funeral services will be held today in the Fireside Room at Our
Savior's Lutheran Church in Osage, with the Rev. Dennis Hanson
officiating.  Burial will be in Osage Cemetery.

Champion Funeral Home, Osage, is in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his parents, Shane Welsh and Melissa DeMerritt
of Osage; paternal grandmother, LaRae Welsh of Osage; paternal
great-grandmother, Una Anderson of Osage; and maternal great-grandmother,
Doris DeMerritt of Charles City.
