                        Kermit B. Askland

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA--Kermit B. Askland, 95, of St. Ansgar, died Tuesday,
March 4, 1997, at the Stacyville Nursing Home, Stacyville, Iowa.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, Mar. 8, at Six Mile Grove
Lutheran Church, East of Lyle, Minnesota, with the Rev. Harold Luecke
officiating. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery, Austin, Minnesota.

The Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, was in charge of
arrangements.

Kermit B. Askland was born Feb. 20, 1902, at Huxley, Iowa.

Survivors include one daughter, Ramona Dente, Saginaw, Michigan; two sons,
Keith of St. Ansgar, and K.B. of Austin, Minn.; seven grandchildren; and
two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one brother and four sisters.
