OBITUARY: Verna Laura Esther (Dieterichs) Tresemer, 1900-1996, Mitchell Co., IA [From Mason City Globe Gazette, Mason City, Iowa, Nov. 6, 1996 (edited)] Verna Dieterichs Tresemer ARLINGTON, IOWA--Verna Dieterichs Tresemer, 96, of Vernon, Connecticut, died Monday, Oct. 28, 1996, at a Connecticut convalescent home. She was born in Rudd, Iowa on Sept. 1, 1900, and had lived in the state of Iowa until the age of 83. She was the widow of Frederich Tresemer. They were married June 12, 1928 in Osage. Frederich died in 1967. Mrs. Tresemer was dedicated to her family and her church. She was the organist for many years at St. John's Lutheran Church in Arlington. In addition, Mrs. Tresemer was an avid gardener, and was expertly skilled at knitting, crocheting and sewing. She is survived by her daughter, Marian Harlow of Connecticut; her son, Curtis Tresemer of California; her sister, Ruth Nelson of Osage; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
