                             Verne Duryee

McINTIRE, IOWA--Verne Duryee, 50, of McIntire, died Sunday, March 9, 1997,
at University Hospitals, Iowa City.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Mar. 12, 1997, at the
Conway Funeral Home, Riceville, Iowa, with the Rev. Jerry Newland of Osage,
Iowa, officiating.

Burial was in the Wayne Cemetery, McIntire.

Verne Duryee was born on April 14, 1946, at Osage, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; three daughters, Denise
Blue of Wadena; Connie Morrison, Osage, and Rebecca Lamphier,
Stacyville; two sons, Vernon of Newton, and Alan of Cedar Rapids;
his mother, Pearl Duryee of Riceville; seven grandchildren; six
brothers, Donald of Plainfield; Wayne of Little Cedar; Darell
and Gordon, both of McIntire; Leonard of Leland, and Jim of St.
Paul, Minn.; four sisters, Diane Semerad of Riceville; Cherie
Duryee of McIntire; Donna Wilson of Hayfield, Minn., and Barbara
Woolworth of Cresco.

He was preceded in death by his father, one brother and one sister in
infancy.
