OBITUARY: Norma Fern (Edmunds) Forbes, 1910-1997, Mitchell County, Iowa [Based on Obituary in Mason City Globe Gazette; June 27, 1997] Norma Fern Forbes OSAGE, IOWA-- Norma Fern Forbes, 87, of Osage, died Thursday (June 26, 1997) at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage. Funeral services will be held on Monday at the United Methodist Church, Osage, with the Rev. Arthur Hill officiating. Burial will be in the Eastside Cemetery, Dodgeville, Wis. Visitation will begin after 3 p.m. Sunday at the Champion Funeral Home, Osage, and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Norma was born Jan. 26, 1910, at Janesville, Wis., the daughter of Fred and Josephine (Henstock) Edmunds. She moved as a child with her parents to Ridgeway, Wis., and attended Ridgeway schools. She married Curtis Forbes on Feb. 11, 1927, at Galena, Ill. They made their home in Dodgeville, Avoca, and Bridgeport, Wis., before moving to Osage. Norma was active in the United Methodist Church and in her circle. She is survived by her husband, Curtis Forbes of Osage; two daughters, Arlyne Seim and her husband, Larry, of Decorah, and Eunice Hobkirk and her husband, Donald, of Hudson; one son, Curtis Forbes Jr. And his wife, Ann, of Manawa, Wis.; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sons and daughters-in-law, Eugene Forbes and his wife, Joy, and John Forbes and his wife, Rita. Copyright 2004, K.L. Kittleson
