OBITUARY: Bernard Fox, 1911-1997, Mitchell County, Iowa [Based on Obituary in Mason City Globe Gazette; Mar. 27, 1997] Bernard Fox OSAGE, IOWA--Bernard Fox, 85, of Spooner, Wis., formerly of the Osage and New Haven area, died Sunday (March 23, 1997) at Fairview Riverside Hospital in Minneapolis. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, New Haven, with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery. The Champion Funeral Home, Osage, is in charge of arrangements. Bernard was born Nov. 27, 1911, at New Haven, Iowa, the son of Mathias and Martha (Gilles) Fox. He attended school at New Haven. He moved to Evergreen Township near Spooner, Wisconsin. Bernard married Sarah Beatrice Spratford in June of 1932 at Spooner, Wis. They farmed in the Spooner, Wis., area until retirement in 1975. For the last three years, he was a resident of Trevilla Nursing Home at New Brighton, Minn. Bernard was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Spooner, Wis. Bernard is survived by three sisters, Leone Fox of Colorado, Lorraine Van Buskirk and her husband, Frances, of Washington state, and Mary Leazer of Illinois; and two brothers, Norman Fox and his wife, Yvonne, of Eau Claire, Wis., and Garland Fox and his wife, Eileen, of Salida, Colo.
