OBITUARY: William J. Groth, 1921-1997, Mitchell County, Iowa

                          William J. Groth

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA--William J. Groth, 75, formerly of St. Ansgar, died
Wednesday, Jan. 8, 1997, at the Clarinda Treatment Complex, Clarinda.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Lutheran
Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Robert Porisch officiating.

Burial will be in the First Lutheran Cemetery.

Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, is in charge of arrangements.

William J. Groth was born Nov. 15, 1921, in St. Ansgar, the son of William
and Irene (Dahl) Groth.

He attended school in St. Ansgar and graduated from high school in 1939.

He is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one brother.
