OBITUARY: Paul Harold Hartwig, 1908-1997, Mitchell County, Iowa

                          Paul H. Hartwig

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA--Paul H. Hartwig, 88, of St. Ansgar, died Friday (Jan. 3,
1997) at the Good Samaritan Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. John's Lutheran
Church, Rock Township, with the Rev. Rose Marie Lewis officiating.  Burial
will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Sunday at the Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home.

Paul H. Hartwig was born Sept. 20, 1908, in Cedar Township, Mitchell County.

Survivors include his wife, Esma, of St. Ansgar; one daughter, Karen
Steinberg of St. Ansgar; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
