                      Vernon E. Hoisington 

OSAGE, IOWA--Vernon E. Hosington, 86, of Osage, died Tuesday, June 24,
1997, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 27, 1997, at the First
Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jerry Newland officiating. Burial will
be in the Osage Cemetery.

Vernon E. Hoisington was born June 7, 1911, near Orchard, in Mitchell
County.

Survivors include his wife, Luella Hoisington, Osage; one daughter,
Carol Decklever, Osage; two stepdaughters, Karen Koethke of Toeterville,
and Noren Fink, St. Ansgar; two sons, Lee Hoisington, Orchard, and Howard
Hoisington, Orchard; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four
stepgrandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, one brother,
three sisters and one granddaughter.

The Champion Funeral Home, Osage, is in charge of arrangements.
