                          Geneveive Johnson

OSAGE, IOWA--Geneveive Johnson, 83, of Osage, died Thursday, Jan. 16, 1997,
at the Good Samaritan Center in St. Ansgar, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Manly, Iowa, with the Rev. Thomas F. McAndrew officiating.  Burial will
be in Rock Creek Cemetery, rural Osage.

The Champion Funeral Home, Osage, is in charge of arrangments.

Geneveive Johnson was born July 18, 1913, near Plymouth, Iowa.

Survivors include one daughter, Darlene Johanns of Stockton, Mo.; one
son, Duane Johnson of Osage; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren;
four sisters, Helen Scurlock of Daly City, Calif.; Jerry Grant of Manly;
Elaine Barsness of Lake Mills, and Dolores Mathahs of Manly; and one
brother, Frank Hebel of Twin Lakes, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one brother
and three sisters.
