OBITUARY: Karl Kirchgatter, c1931-1997, Mitchell County, Iowa

                          Karl Kirchgatter

CARPENTER, IOWA--Karl Kirchgatter, age 66, of Carpenter, died Wednesday,
June 4, 1997, at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City, Iowa.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, June 8, at the United Methodist
Church, St. Ansgar, with the Rev. Robert Lemmermann officiating.  Burial
will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Kirchgatter, of Bloomington, Minn.,
and Tom Kirchgatter, of Mason City; one brother, Earl Kirchgatter,
St. Ansgar; and one sister, Bernice Edgar, Rock Falls; five grandchildren;
and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one sister and one brother.

The Champion Funeral Home, Osage, Iowa, was in charge of arrangements.
