OBITUARY: Othilda (Leverson) Lunde 1881-1967 Mitchell County, Iowa Othilda Leverson Lunde Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at Rock Creek Lutheran church, rural Osage for Mrs. G.A. Lunde, 86, of rural Nora Springs, who died August 28th at Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage. She had been ill several months. The Rev. Donald Berg, church pastor, conducted services. C.R. Champion and Sons made arrangements, and burial was in Rock Creek cemetery. Othilda Laurinda Leverson was born on May 15, 1881 in Albany, WI, the daughter of Ole and Sofia Leverson. She moved to Iowa with her parents when she was twelve years old and lived in the Osage-Nora Springs vicinity for the remainder of her life. She was baptized as a child in Wisconsin and confirmed at Rock Creek Lutheran church in 1896. In addition to her grade school education, she attended the CedarValley seminary in Osage for one year. She was united in marriage to Gustav Lunde on April 30, 1908, remaining on the Lunde farm. Surviving are three sons: Gaylord and Herbert of rural Osage, and Arleigh of rural Nora Springs; two brothers, Oscar and Emmet Leverson on Osage; eight grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Her parents, her husband, who died on February 18, 1967, and one son Raymond, who died in 1934, preceded her in death. Copyright 2004, Steve Norby
