OBITUARY: Debra Kaye Mayer, 1953-1996, Mitchell County, Iowa [From Mason City Globe Gazette, Mason City, Iowa, July 27, 1996 (edited)] Debra Kaye Mayer RICEVILLE, IOWA--Debra Kaye Mayer, 42, of 311 Addison Ave., Riceville, died Thursday (July 25, 1996) at the Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn., of cancer. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Riceville, with the Rev. Chris Gugel and the Rev. Robert Pfeil officiating. Burial will be in Wayne Cemetery, McIntire. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Hutchins Funeral Home, Leroy, Minn,. and one hour before services at the church. Debra Kaye Mayer was born Oct. 29, 1953, in Osage, the daughter of Harry Van De Walker and Marlys Van De Walker. She was united in marriage to Ron Mayer on Nov. 18, 1972, at Riceville. They were later divorced. She was a dietary assistant at the Riceville Nursing Home. She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Riceville. She is survived by two daughters, Holly and Amber at home; one son, Bret, at home; her mother and stepfather, Marlys Starry and her husband, Robert; two sisters, Jana Jarvis (Mrs. Harold) of Glendale, Ariz., and Diane Mahar (Mrs. Mike) of Parker, Colo.; and one brother, Steve Van De Walker of Rochester, Minn.
