OBITUARY: Olaus George Moe, 1870-1943, Mitchell County, Iowa Olaus George Moe Olaus George Moe, 73, died at his home southwest of Osage, Tuesday April 20, at 4:30. He had been in poor health a long time, but was bedridden only the last week, however he had been blind for several months. George Moe, the son of Ole Olsen Christiansmoen and Guri Olsdatter Maafaa Grov Moe, was born January 19, 1870 in Mitchell County, Iowa in the Rock Creek community, and where he and his family have resided ever since. He was baptized and confirmed at Rock Creek Lutheran church, where he was a life-long member. On October 6, 1895 he married Olava Finsand, and to this union five children were born, all of who survive. Mr. Moe was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters: Mrs. Gunhild Field, Oline (Lena), Karine (Kari), and Mrs. Marie Oppedal; and three brothers: Ole, Gulbrand (Gilbert), and Martin. Surviving relatives include his widow and children: Olvin and Mrs. Herbert (Alice) Norby of this community and Mabel, Clarence, and Edward, all at home. Three grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held at the home tomorrow, Friday afternoon at 1:30 and at the Rock Creek Lutheran church at 2:00. Officiating will be the Rev. O.C.
