OBITUARY: Olvin H. Moe, 1898-1967, Mitchell County, Iowa Olvin H. Moe Funeral services for Olvin H. Moe, 69, who died early Sunday morning at Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage, were held Tuesday at Rock Creek Lutheran church. Burial was in the Rock Creek cemetery. C.R. Champion and Sons of Osage made arrangements. Olvin Herbert Moe was born in Cedar Township, Mitchell County on January 31, 1898. He was the second of five children born to George and Olava Finsand Moe. He was baptized and confirmed at Rock Creek Lutheran church, of which he was a lifelong member. He attended rural school in Cedar Township. His marriage to Avilla Larson took place on September 7, 1926, at the Lutheran parsonage in Osage. They operated the same farm near Meroa continuously, until ill health forced him to enter the hospital on September 6th. He remained a patient for more than seven weeks until his death. Surviving are his wife, Avilla; two sister, Mabel and Mrs. Herbert (Alice) Norby; two brothers, Clarence and Edward, all of rural Osage. Copyright 2004, Steve Norby
