OBITUARY: Daniel Palsic, 1926-1997, Mitchell County, Iowa [Based on Obituary in Mason City Globe Gazette; April 17, 1997] Daniel Palsic OSAGE, IOWA--Daniel Palsic, 71, of Osage, died Monday (April 14, 1997) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City, of natural causes. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Chris F. Gugel officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. The Champion Funeral Home, Osage, is in charge of arrangements. Dan was born Jan. 20, 1926, in Albia, the son of Louis and Mareta (Rosancz) Palcic. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict, where he attained the rank of Corporal. He married Lois Hinz on Jan. 17, 1954, at Zion Lutheran Church in LuVerne. They lived in the Waterloo area until 1959, when they moved to Osage. Dan was a carpenter and mill wright. He was a member of the Carpenters local 1313 of Mason City and Trinity Lutheran Church, Osage, where he also was a trustee. He liked volunteering his time to helping friends. Dan is survived by his wife, Lois Palsic of Osage; two daughters, Linda Price and her husband, Dan, and one son, Alex of Bloomington, Minn.; Karen Kollasch and her husband, Ken, and sons, Erik and Charlie of Burnsville, Minn.; one son, Kevin Palsic and his wife, Carolyn, and sons, Michael and Casey of Osage; two brothers, Mike Palcic of Albia and Lewis Palcic of Granger; and many nieces and nephews.
