Peterson on Friday, October 31st. Services will be at the family home at 1 o’clock and at the Rock Creek Lutheran church at 2 o’clock. Interment will be made in the Rock Creek Lutheran cemetery. Mrs. Emma Josephine Peterson was born in Rudd Township, Floyd County on February 12, 1871. She spent the years of her youth in the parental home until her marriage to Severt J. Peterson on April 8, 1908. Immediately after their marriage, they located on their farm in Rudd Township, Floyd County, Iowa, on which place she continued to live until the time of her death. In her wedlock one daughter, Stella Eleanor, was born. Besides her husband and daughter, the following near relatives survive: three brothers, Iver, Albert, and Oscar Nelson; and three sisters, Mrs. Lewis (Katherine) Larson, Mrs. Martin (Emilia) Maakestad and Mrs. Peter (Bertina) Naig, all of this community. According to the testimony of her dear ones, Mrs. Peterson had been a good and devoted wife and mother. She had always been and exemplary member of the Rock Creek Lutheran church and also an active member of the Ladies’ Aid society. Mrs. Peterson had been in poor health for many years, but no one expected the end of her temporal life to be so near. She was taken very ill about a week ago, which gave cause for alarm. Pneumonia developed and this, together with heart trouble, caused her sudden death. She died on October 28, 1930. Copyright 2004, Steve Norby
