OBITUARY: Evelyn (Markow) Roehr, 1911-1997, Mitchell County, Iowa [Based on Obituary in Mason City Globe Gazette; April 19, 1997] Evelyn Roehr Evelyn Roehr, 85, of Mason City, and formerly of Osage, Iowa, died Wednesday, April 16, [1997] at North Iowa Mercy Health Center East. There will be private services with burial in the Osage Cemetery, with the Rev. Roy Ott of Our Savior's Lutheran Church officiating. Champion Funeral Home, Osage, is in charge of arrangements. Evelyn was born May 10, 1911, in Osage, the daughter of John and Emma (Barlow) Markow. Evelyn lived in Osage and was employed at the Marr Knitting Mill until her retirement. She later moved to Mason City. She is survived by a son, Vaughn Roehr and his wife, Gladys, of Longview, Texas; daughters, Betty Borchardt and her husband, Donald, of Plymouth, and grandchildren, Todd Borchardt and Wendy Borchardt; Shirley Pike and her husband, Roy, Mason City, and grandchildren, Vickie Juelson, Brian Pike, Sherry Boskovich, Becky Pike and Ryan Pike; great-grandchildren, Candice Pedersen, Jamie Monaghan, Amber Pike, Jacob Pike, Nicols Anderson, Tommy Anderson, Trenton Anderson; and great-grandsons, Alex Pedersen and Izak Pedersen. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Myrtle Coonradt; a brother, Leo Markow; a grandson, Bruce Pike; and a great-grandson, Tyler Anderson. Copyright 2004, K.L. Kittleson
