OBITUARY: Martha L. Saug, 1864-1948, Mitchell County, Iowa Martha L. Saug Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Saug of Mason City, Iowa, and formerly of the Meroa vicinity, were held at the Major Memorial chapel at Mason City and at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church in Meroa. The Rev. Alvin N. Rogness of Mason City and the Rev. S.O. Sorlien were in charge and burial was made in the Rock Creek cemetery. Mrs. Saug died Friday evening at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emil Bloomquist, near Mason City, following a lingering illness. Martha L. Paulson was born January 13, 1864 in Norway. She came to the United States in 1877 and settled in Cedar Township, Mitchell County, Iowa. She moved to Mason City in 1936. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lars B. Saug in 1938, and by two sons and a daughter. Surviving are six children: P.B. Saug, of San Antonio, Texas; Mrs. Emil Bloomquist, A.M. Saug, and Mrs. Stephan Fagerlie, all of Mason City, Iowa;Henry Saug, of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Oscar Saug, of Marion; two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and two sisters.
