OBITUARY: Ole Tollefson, 1846-1930, Mitchell Co., Iowa Ole Tollefson Ole Tollefson was born in Hedalen, Valdres, Norway on March 18, 1846. He came to America in 1872 and lived for a short time in Black Earth, WI. He located to Mitchell County, Iowa, in the spring of 1875 and spent the next three years farming in Rock Township. During the balance of his life, he mostly followed the carpenter trade Mr. Tollefson has been a strong man and enjoyed good health until about four years ago when he became afflicted with asthma and was obliged to give up all manual labor. Since coming to the Rock Creek community, he has always been an active member of the church there. He was a man well liked and respected by all who knew him. The following are the only near relatives surviving: a sister, Mrs. Gunborg Nelson of Britt, IA, and two nieces, Mrs. John Devine of Humboldt, Iowa, and Miss Isabelle Hanson of Britt. On September 28th, Mr. Tollefson suffered a stroke of paralysis that terminated in his death on October 1, 1930. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. O.C. Myhre at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church on October 3, 1930 at 2 p.m. Interment was in the Rock Creek cemetery. Copyright 2004, Steve Norby
