OBITUARY: Lawrence O. Wamstad, 1876-1946, Mitchell County, Iowa Lawrence O. Wamstad Lawrence O. Wamstad, former resident of Mitchell County, died at his home in Roswell, ID on November 25, 1946 following an illness of several weeks, according to word received here this week. Interment was made in Boise, ID. Lawrence was born December 22, 1876 in Cedar Township, the son of Ole and Karine Peterson Wamstad. He was educated in the country schools of Cedar Township and grew to manhood here. Later he attended the Nora Springs Seminary. In his youth he was confirmed in the Rock Creek Lutheran Church and after going to Idaho, he joined the Presbyterian Church in Roswell. He went west in 1906 and helped develop the then desert land into a now productive farming community. On December 11, 1924, he was married to Ethel Mathews in Boise, Idaho. Surviving are his wife and three brothers: Carl of Parma, ID, Henry of Osage, and Milton of Nora Springs. Copyright 2004, Steve Norby
