OBITUARY: Milton Bernhard Wamstad, 1889-1962, Mitchell County, Iowa Milton B. Wamstad Milton Bernhard Wamstad died Saturday morning, July 14, at the Mitchell County Memorial hospital, following a long illness. He was 73 years old. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, July 17th, at the Rock Creek Lutheran church and interment was in the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery. The Rev. John Quam, church pastor, officiated. Milton Bernhard Wamstad was born on February 3, 1889 in Cedar Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, a son of Ole and Karina (Peterson) Wamstad. He attended rural schools in Mitchell County and the seminaries at St. Ansgar and Nora Springs. He was baptized and confirmed in the Rock Creek Lutheran church and was married to Mina Field on June 10, 1914. To this union, two children were born, both of who survive. They are a son, Milton Eugene; and a daughter, Mrs. Vernon (Adelaide) Larson, both of rural Nora Springs. Survivors also include one brother, Henry Wamstad of St. Petersburg, Florida, and seven grandchildren. His wife died on May 17, 1956. Also preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and two sisters. Relatives who came from a distance to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Wamstad of St. Paul, MN; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Gustafson and Mrs. Evelyn Pelsingrud of Fort Dodge, IA; Mrs. Lloyd Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Ferrier and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Pickering of Clear Lake; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Larson and Victor Larson of Rake; Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Olson, Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Olson and Mrs. Clara Olson, all of Forest City, IA; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ludeman of Mason City; Mr. and Mrs. James Davis and family and Tom Wamstad of Lyle, Minnesota.
