OBITUARY: Prudence Wilde, 1916-1996, Mitchell County, Iowa [ From Mason City Globe Gazette, Mason City, Iowa, Nov. 22, 1996 (edited)] Prudence Wilde OSAGE, IOWA--Prudence Wilde, 80, of Osage, died Wednesday (Nov. 20, 1996) at North Iowa Mercy Health Center, Mason City. Services for her immediate family will be held on Saturday, with the Rev. Rose Marie Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at the Osage Cemetery. She was born near Hanlontown, in Worth County on Aug. 17, 1916, to Henry and Louise Walk. She graduated from Kensett High School in 1935. She was united in marriage to LaVern Wilde of St. Ansgar, in Northwood, Iowa, on March 27, 1940. They farmed many years in the St. Ansgar and Osage area retiring in 1975. They were living in Osage. Mrs. Wilde was a homemaker and a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Rock Township near Osage. She was also a member of the Hospital Auxiliary of Osage and the Christian Women's Club. She enjoyed reading and gardening and loved being with her family and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She is survived by two daughters, Jean Swanson of Cedar Falls, and Ruth Fredericks, Osage; two grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; one brother; one sister; and many nieces and nephews.
