OBITUARY: Glen Arthur Christiansen, 1917-2005, Mitchell County, Iowa Glen A. Christiansen Funeral services for Glen A. Christiansen, 87, of Nora Springs, Iowa, will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at the St. Luke Lutheran Church, 101 North Hawkeye, Nora Springs, with Reverend Ruth Hansen officiating. Burial will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa. Glen died Saturday, February 26, 2005, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City. Glen Arthur Christiansen was born July 23, 1917, on a farm in the West Cedar Township, in Mitchell County. Glen is the son of Hans and Augusta (Wohlert) Christiansen. Glen attended a country grade school, graduated from the Nora Springs High School, and attended Iowa State University. He was united in marriage to AnnaBelle Deets on June 18, 1944 in Nora Springs. Glen farmed his entire life north of Nora Springs until Glen and AnnaBelle moved to Nora Springs in 1994. They moved to Summit Heights, Nora Springs, two weeks ago. Glen was baptized and confirmed at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church. He became a member of the St. Luke Lutheran Church in Nora Springs, where he served on many boards and committees over the years. His faith was very evident by the way he treated his family and friends. He was an avid baseball fan, playing baseball as a child and throughout his life. He also enjoyed bowling, which he participated in for many years on leagues and in tournaments. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, and four brothers, Al, Carl, Herb, and Larry Christiansen. Glen is survived by his wife AnnaBelle Christiansen, Nora Springs; three children, Cathy (Bob) Charleston, Pomeroy; Terry (Pat) Christiansen, Nora Springs; and Jay (Dianne) Christiansen, Nora Springs. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren, Cari (David) Charleston, Urbandale; Rachel (Craig) Lindsay, Waterloo; Stacy (Curt) Johnson, Pomeroy; Brian Charleston, Pomeroy; Tara (Shannon) Zierke, Cedar Falls; Travis (Donna) Christiansen; Trent (Renee) Christiansen; and Kylee and Bailey Christiansen, all of Nora Springs; six great-grandchildren, Dane Johnson, Reagan Lindsay, Jordan Christiansen, Allison Zierke, Stephan Hildman, and Cole Christiansen; and one brother, John (Marian) Christiansen, Osage, and several nieces and nephews.
