OBITUARY: Oscar T. Dybsjord, 1902-1978, Mitchell County, Iowa Oscar T. Dybsjord (St. Ansgar Enterprise, St. Ansgar, Iowa; June 1, 1978) Funeral services for Oscar T. Dybsjord, 76, a former resident of St. Ansgar, who died at his home in Waterloo May 4, were held May 8 at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Waterloo. Oscar T. Dybsjord was born May 3, 1902, the son of Lars and Kari Dybsjord. He was a graduate of St. Ansgar high school and Gates College in Waterloo. He was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad in the storekeeper's department for 47 years, retiring in 1968. Mr. Dybsjord was secretary of the Waterloo Eagles for 27 years. In 1924 he married Fern Stanton in Waterloo, and she died in 1965. In 1967 he married Minnie Hunt in Waterloo. He is survived by his wife, a son, Richard of Mitchell, S.D.; two daughters, Mrs. Virgin Johnston of Osage and Mrs. Roy Housh of Carter Lake; three stepsons, Larry and Fred Hunt of California and Don Hunt of Tulsa, Okla; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Leo Ferris of Cedar Falls and several grandchildren. Burial was in Mount Olivet cemetery in Waterloo. For non-commercial use only
