OBITUARY: Steven Curtis Foster, 1950-2005, Mitchell County, Iowa Steven Curtis Foster Funeral services were held for Steven Curtis Foster age 55, of Riceville, Iowa, at the Riceville High School Gymnasium on Saturday, March 5, 2005. Reverend Michael Carey and Reverend Dan Christensen officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the American Legion Roy Gue Post of Riceville. Steven passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn., from injuries received in a car accident. Steven was born on Feb. 21, 1950 in Riceville, Iowa, to Curtis and Mary (Aspel) Foster. He attended Riceville schools and upon graduation attended two years of trade school at Calmar. Steven served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam war. He was united in marriage to Deborah Huisman on Sept. 16, 1978 at the St. Ansgar Methodist Church, St. Ansgar, Iowa. Steven worked for the Riceville Community Schools in maintenance, and as a custodian. He was preceded in death by his father Curtis in 1986, and by his grandparents and an uncle, Jim Aspel. Steven's survivors include his wife Deb and a daughter Terri of Riceville, his mother Mary of Riceville, two brothers Mark of Elma and Greg of Riceville, two sisters: Mrs. Roger (Karen) Owens of Tripoli, Iowa, and Mrs. Roger Lynne Derry of New Hampton, Iowa.
