OBITUARY: Waldemar Graff, 1870-1947, Mitchell County, Iowa Waldemar Graff Funeral services for Waldemar Graff, 77, were held Saturday, May 24, at Champion Funeral Home and at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church. The Rev. S.O. Sorlien officiated. Mr. Graff died Wednesday, May 21, 1947 after a brief illness. Burial was in the Rock Creek cemetery. Waldemar Graff was born on February 4, 1870 in Greenaa, Denmark. He came to Mitchell County in 1900 to live with relatives in this area. On July 8, 1906, he was united in marriage with Anna Olson Klemesrud and was employed on area farms for a number of years. In Denmark he was a tinsmith. In 1932, Mr. and Mrs. Graff retired from active work and moved to Osage. In 1944, Mr. Graff submitted to major surgery from which he recovered, but recently he had been suffering with a heart condition. About a year ago the Graffs moved to the Aase Haugen home in Decorah. Mr. Graff became ill two hours after reaching the home of Mrs. Charles Cockrum in Osage on Tuesday. Surviving are his wife and an adopted son, Harry, of Milwaukee, WI.
