OBITUARY: Matilda Thompson Gulbransen, 1876-1949, Mitchell County, Iowa




                     Matilda Thompson Gulbransen
          
Burial services were held Monday at the Rock Creek Lutheran cemetery,
rural Osage, for Mrs. Lars Gulbransen, 72, of Mason City who died suddenly
at her home Thursday February 24, 1949.  She had been a resident of
Mason City for 24 years.

Anne Matilda Thompson was born September 22, 1876 in Mitchell County, to
Ole and Kirsti Tostenrud Thompson.  She was baptized and confirmed in
the Rock Creek Lutheran Church.  She moved to Mason City from Nora Springs
in 1925.

Survivors include: her husband, Lars; two daughters, Mrs. Joe Ludeman of
Mason City, and Mrs. Lloyd H. Snively of Gooding, ID; a brother, Oscar
Thompson of Leland; and two sisters, Elise Gilje and Mrs. P.D. Hillis of
Cornelius, OR.

She was preceded in death by a daughter Mabel in 1902.  Funeral services
were held in Mason City.
