                           Betty W. Hartwig

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA-- Betty W. Hartwig, 78, of St. Ansgar, died Wednesday,
November 19, 1997, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center, Osage.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church
with the Rev. Edward Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in St. Ansgar
Cemetery.

The Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, is in charge of arrangements.

Betty W. Hartwig was born Jan. 21, 1919, in New Richmond, Wis.

Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Canny of Anoka, Minn.; two sisters,
Gladys Howden and Peggy Hauer, both of Austin, Minn.; one brother, Bert
Ferguson of Austin, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, five brothers
and sisters.
