OBITUARY: Ernest Johanns, 1933-1997, Mitchell County, Iowa

                             Ernest Johanns

PLYMOUTH, IOWA-- Ernest Johanns, age 64, of rural Plymouth, died Wednesday
(Nov. 12, 1997) at his home, of natural causes.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church,
Osage, Iowa, with Father Philip Recker officiating. Burial will be in
Sacred Heart Cemetery.

The Champion Funeral Home, Osage, is in charge of arrangements.

Ernest was born March 30, 1933, in Osage, the son of Joseph and Laura
(Fluhrer) Johanns. Ernest was educated in rural schools and graduated
from Plymouth High School in 1950. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

Survivors include a sister, Ardella Scalise and her husband Robert, of
Altoona; a brother, Richard Johanns and his wife, Barbara, rural Grafton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
