OBITUARY: Ingeborg (Gulbrandsen) Johanson, 1852-1931, Mitchell County, Iowa Ingeborg Gulbrandsen Johanson Mrs. Ingeborg Johanson was born in the parish of Biri, Norway on February 7, 1852 to Gulbrand and Anne Petersdatter Jensen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church of her native land. In the spring of 1874, she came to America and located at Osage, Iowa. On December 31, 1877, she was united in marriage to Jens Johanson. The first year of their married life was spent on a farm in Cedar Township. Later they moved to their own farm in Rock Township on which place she lived for 41 years. Eight years ago she broke her hip. Since that time her health has been hindered a great deal and for three years her strength has failed noticeably. Since coming to this community she has been an active and loyal member of the Rock Creek Lutheran Church. She passed away on July 17, 1931. Surviving her are her husband and the following children: Mrs. C.E. (Nettie) Shoger, Mrs. J.A. (Agnes) Christianson, Mrs. Julius (Matilda) Anderson, John G. and Alfred Johanson. Two sons preceded her in death. The Rev. O.C. Myhre conducted funeral services on July 19, 1931 at Rock Creek Lutheran Church.
