OBITUARY: Olvin Johnson, 1894-1970, Mitchell County, Iowa Olvin Johnson Funeral services for Olvin Johnson, 75, who died Friday, December 19, 1970 at the Osage Nursing Home, were held at the Champion Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald L. Berg of Rock Creek Lutheran Church officiating. Burial was in the Rock Creek Lutheran cemetery, and the arrangements were by C.R. Champion and Sons. Hjalmer Olvin Johnson was born on June 1, 1894 to Hans L. and Carrie Peterson Johnson. He was baptized and confirmed at Rock Creek Lutheran Church. He attended the rural Dudley school and one year at Cedar Valley seminary. He farmed for a short time near Osage and lived in Missouri for several years, also working in other occupations. He had retired several years ago because of ill health. Surviving are two brothers: Irvin, of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Newell, of Osage, two nieces and one great-niece.
