OBITUARY: Herman Syversen Klemesrud, 1858-1939, Mitchell County, Iowa Herman S. Klemesrud Herman Syversen Klemesrud, son of Mr. and Mrs. Syver Klemesrud, was born at Hedalen, Norway on October 27, 1858. In 1882 he immigrated to America and located in Rock Grove Township, Floyd County, Iowa. About nine years ago he moved to Nora Springs, where he continued to live until the time of his death. In 1904 he was married to Mary Rustad, who with two daughters, Thelma and Mrs. Wilbur (Gunda) McLean, and one grandson, survive him. During his stay in this community the departed had always been an active member of the Rock Creek Lutheran Church and a kind a dutiful father who will be greatly missed. Mr. Klemesrud had been in poor health for many years, but bore his suffering patiently and hopefully. A heart attack and the infirmities of old age terminated his temporal life on April 26, 1939. Funeral services were conducted from the Skedder Funeral Home at Nora Springs, and the Rock Creek Lutheran Church on April 28, 1939. Officiating at the service was the Rev. O.C. Myhre, church pastor.
