OBITUARY: Kristian Larson, 1891-1936, Mitchell County, Iowa Kristian Larson Kristian Larson was born at Grau, Hadeland Norway on February 19, 1891. On July 29, 1911 he immigrated to America and came to Mitchell County, Iowa. He was employed as a farm laborer and when not employed, made his home with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Framstad. These friends not only paid for his passage to this country, but also were kind to him, counseled and cared for him as a member of their own family. On July 25, 1917 he was drafted into the military service of the United States. Leaving Camp Gordon, GA, he sailed for France and served until being honorably discharged on May 1, 1918. Returning to this community, he had for many years been in the employ of Ingolf Motland. The near relatives surviving him are: his mother at Hadeland, Norway; a brother, Iver of Portland, OR; his aunt, Mrs. Gilbert Framstad; and a large number of cousins. Death came to him in an automobile accident on May 31, 1936. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. O.C. Myhre at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church on June 3, 1936 and interment was in the Rock Creek cemetery. Copyright 2005 Steve Norby
