OBITUARY: Lorraine Ethel Lindley, 1924-1940, Mitchell County, Iowa Lorraine Ethel Lindley Lorraine Ethel Lindley was born in Rock Township, Mitchell County, Iowa, on January 12, 1924 to Oscar and Hulda Lindley. She passed away at the Nissen Hospital in Osage on January 9, 1940. Lorraine was baptized in the Rock Creek Lutheran Church and confirmed in the Osage Lutheran Church with the class of 1938. At the time of her death the deceased was a sophomore in the Osage High School. She was a talented and conscientious student whose cheerful and pleasing personality will be greatly missed. Never very robust, Lorraine suffered an illness three years ago, which left her frail. She was taken sick last Sunday, brought to the hospital on Monday, where she succumbed to heart failure on Tuesday, January 9th. Her parents, a sister Adelaide, and a brother, Orlando, survive her. Services were conducted Friday at the Champion Funeral Home and in the Osage Lutheran Church with Rev. T.P. Solem officiating. Interment was in the Rock Creek Lutheran cemetery.
