OBITUARY: Mayme (Madison) Jeffries 1896-1997, Mitchell County, Iowa [Based on Obituary in Mason City Globe Gazette; November 15, 1997] Mayme Jeffries OSAGE, IOWA-- Mayme Jeffries, age 101, of Osage, died Friday, November 14, 1997, of natural causes, at the Faith Home in Osage. Funeral services will be on Monday at the Champion Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rose Marie Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Mayme Jeffries was born Sept. 2, 1896, in Osage, the daughter of William and Georgia (Smalley) Madison. She was educated in Osage schools. Mayme married Charles D. Jeffries on April 16, 1913. Survivors include a nephew, Dean Hugi and his wife, Merle, of Mason City; a niece, Dorothy Berg of Pippen, Wis.; and several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
