OBITUARY: Mary Louise Miller, 1918-2005, Mitchell County, Iowa Mary Louise Miller A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary Louise Miller, age 86, of Rochester, Minnesota, and formerly of New Haven, Iowa, was held Friday, February 25, 2005, at St. Peter's Catholic Church in New Haven. Reverend Ray E. Atwood officiated. Burial was in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in New Haven. Mary passed away Monday, Feb. 21, 2005, at Rochester Health and Rehabilitation. Mary Miller was born Dec. 6, 1918 in New Haven, to Peter and Rose (Byrnes) Miller. She was educated at St. Mary's Academy in New Haven, and received her normal training and teacher certification at the seminary in Osage. Mary taught school at Douglas Number 2 and Mt. Hope in the rural school system. She continued her education at the University of Minnesota while in Minneapolis. Mary lived in the Minneapolis and Rochester, Minn., area for most of her life, where she was employed as a stenographer. She lived for a time with her sister Agnes in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. Mary always felt a close attachment to her many nieces and nephews. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and family genealogy. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, brothers John and Maurice Miller and sister Agnes Meirick. Her survivors include her sister Ruth (Miller) Sullivan and her husband Don of Waterloo, sister-in-law Marguerite Miller of New Haven and numerous nieces and nephews.
