OBITUARY: Edward Nelson, (a.k.a. Eddie Bakken), 1863-1945, Mitchell Co., Iowa




                            Edward Nelson

Edward Nelson, 82, son of pioneers of Cedar Township died on January 25,
1945 at Mercy Hospital in Mason City.  Death resulted from a fall on the
ice at Clear Lake on January 16th.  As a result of his accident, Mr.
Nelson seriously injured a hip and also suffered a broken femur bone.
He had been making his home with his niece, Grace Bush, for some time.

Mr. Nelson was born January 15, 1863 to Nels Nelson Qvisle and Bertha
Hansen Nelson.  He was commonly known as Eddie Bakken.  He lived most
of his life as a resident of Cedar Township, Mitchell County, Iowa.

He was laid to rest in the family lot in Rock Creek cemetery near Meroa
on January 27, 1945.
